The "Coastal" Guarantee

The Vale weather can be unpredictable. If we arrive and cannot fly due to sudden wind or rain, you do not pay a penny.

*Disclaimer: Rescheduled visits are billed at the original quoted rate.

No Scaffolding Required.

Why pay for access when you can pay for the truth?

For tall properties in Penarth or large homes in Cowbridge, hiring scaffolding just to "take a look" can cost £500+.

Our drone survey solves this instantly:

  • Identify Storm Damage: Clear 4K evidence for your insurer.
  • Check Chimneys & Flashing: Inspect high-level areas safely.
  • Protect Your Property: Non-destructive inspection—no ladders leaning on tiles.

The Vale: Salt, Farmsteads and Controlled Airspace

Coastal and rural roofs from Ogmore-by-Sea round to Sully.

Salt Off the Bristol Channel

From Ogmore-by-Sea round to Sully the prevailing wind carries salt inland, and salt attacks fixings rather than surfaces. Slate nails, ridge screws, lead clips and steel fascia brackets corrode while the covering above them still looks sound, so the roof fails suddenly and from underneath. We shoot ridges, hips and verges close enough to read the fixings themselves.

Farmsteads Quoted as One Site

Much of the Vale is agricultural: a house, a range of barns, a machinery shed, perhaps a converted stable. Inspecting that with ladders is days of work at height on fragile fibre cement. Flown, it is a single visit with every building documented separately, which is how a farm business works out which roof actually needs this year's capital.

Airspace Around Cardiff Airport

The Vale is one of the few areas we cover where controlled airspace genuinely shapes the job. Rhoose, St Athan and the surrounding parishes sit close to active aviation, so we check your postcode against current restrictions and obtain clearance where it is needed, before quoting rather than on the doorstep.

One Fee, Whatever We Find

We hold no repair arm and take no referral commission, so a long defect list earns us nothing at all. The fixed fee covers the flight, every raw image, the 4K video and a written condition report, and you decide from there whether any trade needs to be involved.

Buying or Selling?

"The survey flagged a roof issue in Cowbridge."

Period properties in the Vale often have complex roofs. Standard surveys might state "Roof not inspected - obscured." We provide the high-level evidence your lender requires.

The Solution: Clear, visual evidence to resolve mortgage retentions or negotiate sales.

Insurance Claims & Storm Damage

If you are claiming for "Storm Event" damage, your insurer will demand proof that the damage is recent.

  • HD Evidence: 4K photos of fresh damage.
  • Date-Stamped Data: Proof for your claim.
  • Independent Validation: Unbiased reports.

Vale of Glamorgan Surveys: Coast, Farms and Airspace

The questions we hear across CF61, CF62, CF63 and CF64.

Does Cardiff Airport stop you flying in the Vale?

Not usually, but it shapes the job. Addresses near Rhoose and St Athan sit close to controlled airspace, so we check your exact postcode and arrange clearance where it is required. You are told before booking if an address is restricted.

We are right on the coast. Will wind prevent the survey?

We plan around the forecast and fly within the aircraft's limits, and coastal conditions are normal work for us. If the day turns out unsafe we do not fly and you are not charged, with any rescheduled visit at the original rate.

Can you survey a farm with several buildings?

Yes, and it is the most cost-effective work we do. One visit covers house and outbuildings together, each reported separately, and fragile fibre cement or asbestos sheeting is assessed without anybody stepping onto it.

Why do coastal roofs fail differently?

Because salt corrodes fasteners faster than it damages coverings. The slate, tile or sheet can look serviceable while the nails, clips and brackets holding it down have gone, which is why we photograph fixings and ridges rather than settling for a general view of the slope.

Which parts of the Vale do you cover?

All of it: Llantwit Major, Rhoose, St Athan, Dinas Powys, Sully and Ogmore-by-Sea as well as the towns and the rural parishes. Travel is calculated from our NP4 base to your postcode and shown before you book.
