The "Urban Canopy" Guarantee
Dense urban areas can have unexpected wind tunnels or micro-climates. If we arrive and cannot fly safely due to environmental factors, you do not pay a penny.
*Disclaimer: Rescheduled visits are billed at the original quoted rate.
Scaffold-Free Urban Inspections.
Why pay for scaffolding in tight streets when you can inspect from the air?
Installing scaffolding in dense terraced areas like Bedminster or Southville is often impractical, expensive, and disruptive.
Our drone survey provides a faster, safer alternative:
- ✅ Evidence for Insurance: Validation for storm damage claims with 4K photos.
- ✅ Terrace Risk Mapping: Identifying shared gutter and party-wall issues.
- ✅ Trace and Access: Find the exact entry point of a leak in minutes.
Bedminster: Small Roofs, Steep Streets, No Room for Scaffold
What BS3's artisan terraces need from a survey, and why access is the whole problem.
Two-Up Two-Down, Wall to Wall
The artisan terraces off North Street and Mill Lane share party walls in unbroken runs, with rear yards a few metres deep. There is nowhere to stand a tower and no way to see the back slope from the street. The drone works from directly overhead, so the rear roof, the yard gutter and the neighbouring abutment appear without anyone setting foot in a garden.
Totterdown and Windmill Hill Gradients
Where the street climbs, one end of a terrace sits a full storey below the other and the roofline steps down with it. Ladders sit badly on that camber and eaves height changes house by house. Flying takes the gradient out of the problem entirely and gives a level, square-on view of every slope regardless of where the ground happens to be.
Proportionate to the Building
A modest BS3 terrace does not justify several hundred pounds of scaffold to establish whether a slate has slipped, which is why small defects go unlooked-at until a ceiling stains. A fixed-fee flight is in proportion to the house: you find out what is actually wrong for less than the access alone would have cost.
What the Fixed Fee Buys
Every raw image, the 4K video, and a written condition report identifying each defect and where on the roof it sits. We carry out no repairs, so nothing in that report earns us a penny, and you are free to take it to any BS3 roofer and ask for a price against the evidence rather than against an opinion.
Buying or Selling in BS3?
"The survey flagged a potential roof issue."
Banks often demand a "Specialist Roof Report" before releasing funds on terraced or converted properties. Standard surveys often can't see high, complex roofs properly.
The Solution: We provide the high-level evidence your lender requires to lift the retention.
Insurance Claims & Boundary Disputes
If you are claiming for "Storm Event" damage or resolving a "party wall" leak dispute, your insurer or mediator will demand objective proof.
- ✅ HD Evidence: 4K photos of fresh damage.
- ✅ Date-Stamped Data: Proof for your claim.
- ✅ Independent Validation: Unbiased reports.
Typical Defects We Expose
Damaged / Slipped Tiles
Identify slipped or missing slates causing water ingress. Critical for Trace and Access on tight terraced streets.
Chimney Stack Pointing
Check for lead flashing issues and cracked pointing on tall stacks common in BS3's Victorian stock.
Blocked Guttering Check
Spot vegetation growth and siltation in shared or parapet gutters from above.
Fascia / Soffit Issues
Identify water damage and rot on wooden fascia boards.
BS3 Housing Intelligence
Our drones are calibrated to spot specific defects common to the Bedminster/Southville area:
- Terrace Valley Gutters: Identifying blockages and failure in shared drainage systems.
- Conversion Seals: Checking integrity of seals on converted factory lofts and flat-roof additions.
- Boundary Wall Checks: Inspecting party-wall leadwork and potential cross-property water flow.
- Urban Wind Exposure: Assessing uplift damage on properties near open spaces like Greville Smyth Park.

Bedminster Roof Surveys: BS3 Questions
Access, cost and party walls, answered.
My yard is tiny and there is no side access. Does that stop you?
No. We can launch from the front of the property or the pavement outside and reposition over the roof, so a narrow BS3 yard or a blocked side passage makes no difference to what we are able to photograph.
Is it worth surveying a small terraced house?
For most owners that is the point. The fee is small relative to any access equipment, so checking a suspected slipped slate or the cause of a damp patch is proportionate rather than an event, and you get the same image quality and report as a large property.
Can you show what is happening on my neighbour's side of the party wall?
We photograph your roof, and the images inevitably show where a shared defect crosses the boundary, such as a slipped slate over the party line or a blocked shared gutter. That evidence is usually what settles responsibility without an argument.
Do you cover Southville, Ashton Gate and Knowle as well?
Yes, along with Windmill Hill and Totterdown. The whole BS3 corridor sits in one travel band from our NP4 base, and the exact figure appears in the quote form on this page.
How long are you on site?
Typically twenty to thirty minutes of flying for a terraced house, plus setting up and a safety check. You do not need to be in, provided we can reach a launch point and the flight does not require access through the house.
