COMMERCIAL DOMINANCE
Cwmbran’s Business District Authority.
Llantarnam hosts major retail and logistics units with vast flat roofs prone to ponding and membrane failure.
We provide rapid, non-intrusive inspections without shutting down operations:
- ✅ Flat Roof Mapping: Identify standing water, split membranes, and failed seams.
- ✅ Cladding & Fascia: Spot corrosion or panel displacement on warehouse units.
- ✅ Insurance Compliance: Full audit trails for commercial claims.
Cwmbran: A New Town Roofscape
Pattern-built housing, retail park flat roofs, and no room to put a tower.
Built Fast, Built to Pattern
Cwmbran was built at speed from 1949 onward, so whole estates share one roof specification: shallow-pitch interlocking concrete tile, mortar-bedded ridges, dry verges, and a flat-roofed extension or garage attached. When one house on the street is failing the neighbours are usually at the same stage, and a shallow pitch lets driven rain travel much further under the tile than steep slate ever would.
Flat Roofs at Llantarnam and Pontnewydd
The retail and logistics units carry large single-membrane and built-up felt roofs where the whole failure mechanism is ponding. A silted outlet or a settled deck holds water for months before anything reaches a tenant's ceiling. That is invisible from inside and unmistakable from above, and one flight covers a roof that would take a day to walk.
Density Without Access
Llanyrafon and St Cadocs put buildings close together with narrow service margins and parked cars on every side, so siting a tower or a scaffold means moving vehicles and blocking a route. We launch from a small footprint on the property itself and stay clear of the neighbours entirely.
The Next Town Over
Our base is Pontypool, minutes away, so Cwmbran carries zero travel cost and short-notice visits are usually possible. We survey only, with no re-roofing, no membrane work and no gutter clearance, which means the fixed fee and the findings are entirely independent of one another.
Buying or Selling in Cwmbran?
"The survey flagged a potential drainage issue."
Modern builds in Croesyceiliog often lack mature drainage assessment. Standard surveys miss flat roof ponding.
The Solution: Aerial thermal and visual evidence to protect your investment.

- ✅ Thermal Imaging: Detect insulation gaps and moisture ingress.

Cwmbran Surveys: Commercial, Residential and Response Times
What Cwmbran owners, tenants and agents ask.
Do you charge travel to Cwmbran?
No. We are based in Pontypool, so Cwmbran, Croesyceiliog, Llanyrafon, Llantarnam and Oakfield are all zero travel cost, and we can often attend at short notice.
Can you inspect a large flat roof on an industrial unit?
Yes, and it is where the aerial approach saves the most. A single-span warehouse or retail roof that would take a day to walk is covered in one flight, with ponding, lifting seams, silted outlets and damaged flashings all visible from above.
Our estate is all the same house type. Is an individual survey still worth it?
The specification is shared but the condition is not, and the differences are what matter: which ridge has lost its mortar, which verge has opened up, whose flat extension is ponding. A survey tells you about your building rather than about the pattern.
Do you work for managing agents and landlords across several units?
Yes. Multi-unit and portfolio work is quoted per visit, so several roofs on the same business park in one attendance costs substantially less than separate call-outs, and each unit still receives its own report.
The extension roof is flat and only a few years old. Would you still look at it?
It is worth it, because early failures on modern flat roofs are detail failures rather than material ones: an upstand set too low, a poorly formed outlet, a lap left short. Those are far easier to see from above than to argue about later.
